Christopher
"Dementia" Lim began dancing in 1999, while attending the
University of
Michigan. Upon
completing a B.S. in Computer Engineering, Dementia moved to
New York City to begin his
double life: Engineer by day and Popper by night. He trained with Vibe
Elements, The Electric Boogaloos, Shallow, and Bam Bam.
Dementia won numerous popping battles such as NYC's Street Styles,
Boston's Unity and Respect, NYC's annual House Dance
Conference, The Dynasty Rockers 30th Anniversary Celebration, Battle
Zone,
Battle in the Burbs, as well as placed in
the semi-finals of Chicago's City
vs.City, and
California's B-Boy Summit.
Dementia's credits include the Missy Elliot video "Cop
That Disk", performances on MTV's TRL, Brooklyn Cable Access Television,
Dance Space Raw Material, the Annual Hip Hop Theatre Festival, the Los
Angeles Urban Dance Festival, and Fringe Festival of International Dance
Artists in
Toronto.
Currently, Dementia holds NYC Popshop, a weekly
practice session at PMT Dance Studios, bringing together experienced and
novice dancers to exchange creative ideas and popping techniques.
Dementia is also member of the Animated Beat Mechanics and Vibe
Elements, and considered one of the "best poppers in NYC".

Class Description:
This
popping class will focus on correct hitting techniques, improvisation,
and the movements associated with popping such as waving, tutting,
boogaloo, and scarecrow.
The class will be geared to all levels of poppers, as
it will cover the foundations of the dance as well as more advanced
techniques and concepts.
