Velly Bahia

Brazilian Dance

     Velly Bahia was born in Salvador, Bahia. He has trained and danced in Afro-Brazilian for the past 30 years. A former dancer of Ballet Folclorico da Bahia , he came to America performing on Broadway for the dance company OBA OBA . He has choreographed for many dance companies. In California he participated in different music videos and TV commercials. He has been teaching in school programs and is invested in exchanging  knowledge between Brazil and United States through Afro-Brazilian dance.

Section 3.3.5 - Open Brazilian  Dance - 6:30 - 8:00pm

     Velly Bahia's class is one of the most beautiful innovations in Afro-Brazilian today. It is a combination of Afro roots and Afro-Modern based on the dances of the Orixás in the Afro-Brazilian religion called Candomblé. You experience a blend of all Brazilian dances, not forgetting the beautiful Samba dance.
