From the tender age of 4, when she performed on the famous Lincoln Center stage, it was known that Devynn wanted to be a performer. Born and raised in New York, Devynn was a very musical child , playing the Piano and Violin .She appeared as a Violinist for the movie Music of the Heart and in commercials for United Way and Macy's just to name a few. It wasn't until Devynn was accepted to the Repertory school for Theater arts to pursue acting that she became exposed to the world of dance. Here is where she was able to work with various companies such as Ballet Hispanico, Martha Graham Dance Company and The Ailey American Dance Theater. She also appeared in various musicals such as Sweet Charity, West Side story and Once upon a Mattress.
In 2012 Devynn began assisting choreographer Pavan Thimmaiah with his Performance workshops at The Ailey Extension and has performed in various shows at PMT Dance Studio. Since that time, she has performed on TLC's "Breaking Amish", at the halftime show for the NY Liberty at Madison Square Garden (2014, 2015) and on the Today Show with PMT Dance Company (Feb & Sept 2015). She was an integral part of setting PMT Dance Studio's record for 'World's Largest Street Dance'. In 2013 She graduated from John Jay college with her BA in English and plans to continue her education and her passion as a dancer and performer.
Maria Molina was born in The Bronx, from Colombian parents. She came across the art of dance at the age of nineteen in Binghamton University and since then her passion for its craft has grown. She has taken many introductory courses and although her shy and introverted personality, she was part of many dance groups on campus, such as Quimbamba, Black Dance Repetoire, and Orchesis. Upon graduating, she decided to take a beginners jazz workshop at BDC, and a hip hop/street jazz performance workshop at Alvin Ailey with Pavan Thimmaiah. After taking two workshops with Mr. Thimmaiah, she was asked joined the PMT family. Since that time, she has performed on TLC's "Breaking Amish", NBC's 'Today Show' and at the halftime show for the NY Liberty at Madison Square Garden and the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclay's Center. She was an intregral part of setting PMT Dance Studio's record for 'World's Largest Street Dance'. Her teaching experience and performance ability has brought her to perform in teach in cities outside of NYC, including Baltimore, Fort Lauderdale, New Orleans and Boston.
This class focuses on the importance of the "groove" while teaching beginners the fundamentals of Hip Hop movement. With Dev and Mo's extremely energetic and dynamic "sass" and "hood" styles, they will show you how to really FEEL the movement. Dev and Mo strive for a non judgmental, relaxed and fun atmosphere, while focusing on the importance of isolations and drills, old school/ fundamental Hip Hop and the latest dance crazes .
