Thanks to the contributions toward our Pay It Forward Program, classes are now Donation Optional!
Recommended Donations: $5, $10 or $15.
Why We Need Your Support:
Arts Facilities, including dance studios, are not eligible for most of the Financial Assistance available to others.
Artists are finding it equally as hard to find help. Some of our artists are facing hardships finding food and a place to live.
Your donations support our artists, other students who are struggling and the business that houses all of this.
Have you been deeply affected by COVID-19 and financial assistance to take classes?
Email firstname.lastname@example.org with your story. Extenuating circumstances include job loss, family loss, etc.

KAT RODRIGUEZ• BALLET
(Available In Person or Online)
Sunday 4:00 - 5:30pm
Basic Barre (Ballet)
Kat Rodriguez, a native New Yorker, began her classical training at 13, under the direction of Nancy Turano at the New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble. There, she had the honor of working with Sidra Bell, Andrea Miller, Bradley Shelver, and Adam Barruch, and the opportunity to perform at the Joyce and SummerStage.
After taking a few years away from Dance, Kat participated in the Professional Semester at Broadway Dance Center before joining VALLETO Dance, a contemporary ballet company. She is now signed with LDC Artist Representation.
Kat has also performed with Buglisi Dance Theatre, ChoreoNova, various music artists including Mac Miller and Talib Kweli.
Additionally, she is on faculty as a ballet instructor at The Dance Studio of Park Slope, Rise Dance, MS 51. You can also catch her assisting Dorit Koppel at Broadway Dance Center and for her virtual Barre Fitness classes.
This class will slowly introduce dancers to new vocabulary, in addition to refining basic ballet steps. Class is divided into Barre and Center so that dancers can continue strengthening their core, coordination, and balance independently. A basic knowledge of vocabulary is suggested but not required! All levels welcome.
Basic Ballet Barre:
This class serves as a non-competitive introduction to the study of classical ballet. Exercises will focus on enforcing vocabulary and etiquette, as well as slowly conditioning proper alignment, core strength, and flexibility. Basic ballet steps and vocabulary are taught at this level, and all levels are welcome! No prior experience is necessary.
