CAMRYN GRAVES
Jazz Dance

Camryn Graves is a performing artist, choreographer and teacher based in NYC originally from Southern California. Throughout her formative years, she trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary and theatre dance.

 

Her passion led her to NYC to study ballet for two summers at the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet. She then moved across the country and received her BFA in Theatre Performance at Hofstra University with a minor in Musical Theatre. There, Camryn choreographed a variety of musicals including “American Idiot” and performed in principal roles such as Elle from “Legally Blonde”.

 

She is a principal dancer and vocalist for PMT Dance Company, and has been seen leading the world premiere of Dissonance as well as performing on The Today Show. Most recently, Camryn choreographed and performed in Natasha Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812 at Columbia University and wrote and starred in her original solo show: DISTORTIONS.

Camryn is deeply passionate about teaching all ages! Her goal as an educator is to inspire self confidence, presence and body awareness while challenging her students and her self to stay curious and continue learning and growing. 

Class Description

Basic Jazz: This class is for absolute beginners with no prior knowledge of technique and/or anyone looking to fine tune their existing technique. It will break down the fundamentals and basic techniques of Jazz dance, creating a strong foundation for the student. Students will also learn to apply dynamics, musicality and performance qualities to class choreography.
