Orhan Saric • Waacking
Orhan Oli Saric was born and raised in Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina and got in touch with dance at the age of 12 for the first time. After a lot of research, traveling around the world, education and self-discovery throughout years of dance experiences in different styles such as: jazz, street jazz, hip hop, house, heels, vogue and waacking he decided to become a teacher and share his knowledge with other students in his hometown in 2011. Years after he finally figured out that his true love was actually and always will be waacking. Since then it is his main style. His true waacking experience began in New York City where he became a part of a waacking crew “International Affair “ founded by Miki Tuesday and also learned a lot from one and only Princess Lockerooo. Whether if it’s teaching at Peri Dance Capezio, Brickhouse and Sol Dance Center or performing at Apollo Theatre, Bronx and Manhattan Pride, Frank Sinatra School or dancing in music videos for Todrick Hall or Rhyme So - his goal is always to learn and spread the true essence of the waacking spirit.
Through various techniques of arm movements we’ll be learning about musicality, history of waacking, posing and expression of character. Using the basic tools of this style we’ll create routines, improve our freestyle skills and feel fabulous about ourselves. This class will teach you how to use the knowledge and genuine understanding of waacking in today’s modern age and why it’s still so relevant while staying true to the essence of the style.
