Why We Need Your Support:
-
Arts Facilities, including dance studios, are not eligible for most of the Financial Assistance available to others.
-
Artists are finding it equally as hard to find help. Some of our artists are facing hardships finding food and a place to live.
-
Your donations support our artists, other students who are struggling and the business that houses all of this.

A True NYC Dance Experience™
Celebrating 24 Years - 2001-2025
Pamela Vail
Pamela Vail is a dance artist who has been performing, creating, and teaching for close to three decades. Notable collaborations include: the Architects, a performance improvisation quintet (co-founder); Yanira Castro | a canary torsi, critically acclaimed New York City-based interdisciplinary collaborative (founding member); and filmmaker Jeremy Moss. In addition to performing her own work nationally and internationally, she has worked with a variety of choreographers over the years. She is currently professor of dance at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA, where she has been teaching since 2002.
Intensive Description:
What exactly is contemporary dance, and how is it related to modern and post-modern dance? Through set movement and improvisation, we’ll explore principles of contem-po-mod practice (“technique”), which will transition us into dance-making—prioritizing experimentation and investigating strategies for invention, toward meaning-making, in choreography.
