BBOY CUONG • BREAKING

Originally from Sai Gon, Viet Nam, Cuong is a movement artist with 15 years of experience across different movement disciplines. In 2007, Cuong started as a Popping dancer representing Big South Crew in Sai Gon, Viet Nam. Cuong moved to the US in pursuit of a deeper technical and cultural understanding of dance. In 2014, Cuong graduated from Goucher College with Honors in Interdisciplinary Major in Dance, Music, and Film. As a dance artist, Cuong has presented his work at different prestigious events, including American College Dance Conference, Dumbo Dance Festival, Baltimore's ArtScape, Akimbo Dance Festival and Triskelion Collab Fest. Since moving to New York City in 2015, Cuong has been immersing himself in New York Hip Hop dance community, constantly sharing his knowledge and artistic visions with the vibrant and talented dancers of the city.

 

Class description:

Advanced Beginner Breaking introduces students to different technical and conceptual fundamentals of Breaking, both as a dance and culture. On top of techniques, students will learn about historical and cultural background, session conducts, cypher etiquettes, battle tactics, and physical conditioning regiments. This class is a perfect place for newcomers who want to immerse themselves in Breaking, as well as beginner students who want to sharpen up their skills to move on to battling and express themselves with freedom and confidence.
